Allianz to launch renminbi bond fund

Allianz Global Investors is looking to launch a renminbi-denominated fixed income fund in the summer.

The Allianz RCM Renminbi Income fund is likely to be managed by Hong-Kong based Helen Lam, who has worked on RCM's regional fixed income team since 1999. She is co-manager of the RCM Growth, Absolute Return, and HK Dollar Liquidity funds. The fund will aim to deliver long-term capital growth and achieve a total return through a diversified portfolio of fixed interest securities. The portfolio will include Chinese government bonds, corporate bonds, quasi government bonds, super national bonds and renminbi deposits.
